Originally posted by Parallax My whole life I have been able to slip into a suthun drawl when around southerners, and many have asked me where in the South I was from. Reading your post made me curious, so I tried to say "sure, you betcha" with a southern drawl.
I dislocated my right TMJ and sprained my tongue.
That's funny.
Mrs. Racer gets annoyed at me when I return from a lap of North America, as each visit to the deep South has me returning home with a drawl.
Then there was the Good Ole Boy down in Roanoke some years back. I had a dispatch to pick up some equipment, and when I arrived he asks, "Yew ain't fum aroun' heah, aw yew?"
I replied, "No sir, what was your first clue?"
He says, "Iss yer aksent!"
"My accent?" I inquired.
Now this dude was real proud of his knowledge of dialects, and he proudly proclaimed, "Yer Canadan!"
