Originally posted by Parallax I don't find the "aroma" of cow manure offensive unless it's particularly strong. Pig manure is a different story but there is one thing worse than that. I was once a musroom grower. One of the components of the compost was chicken manure. NOTHING, I mean NOTHING smells worse than a dump truck load of fresh chiken manure.
As a teenager I worked for a short time catching chickens at a poultry farm. You have to go in at night and get down on your knees and grab 4 in each hand by the leg, carry them out to the truck and pass them off to the guy who put them in the cages to take to the slaughterhouse. The combination of the chicken manure and the dust will make even those with the strongest of wills wretch.
A visit to a hog or cattle slaughterhouse will add new meaning to the word disgusting.
I have been to Dodge City, Kansas a few times. There are several slaughterhouses there, and tens of thousands of cattle in pens awaiting their demise. You can smell the town before you see it.
But really, there is something worse.
Much worse.
Cat poop.
The smell is awful.
Worse than anything mentioned here yet. Somehow, whatever cats eat gets turned into the most foul smelling excreta that is on this Earth. Of course the smell of what they eat isn't much better.
Enough to keep a K3 far away from any sensible photographer.
