I had an all black cat of Siamese extraction once that was very aggressive. She chased every dog in the neighborhood out of my yard. Big dogs. Little dogs. All dogs. There was not a single dog in the neighborhood that dared to come into the yard.

Oh, and she was born to a feral mother in a friend's garage, behind the deep freeze.

On the very day that Mount St. Helens erupted on May 18, 1980.

I called her my "Volcano Kitty".

I had a cat that beat up the neighbor's Rottweiler. Of course my cat was a very large cat, weighing in at 25lb. The dog came into my yard, growled at my cat like he was going to attack, so my cat tore into him bad, then chased him from the yard, then sprayed the fencepost at the front corner of the yard.

The dog was known as a cat killer around the neighborhood, so he got what he deserved. The neighbors tried to tell me I needed to pay for the stitches their dog required. I let them know it was in my yard, and went for my cat first. They shut up about it.

It was hilarious that every time that dog would see my cat it would yelp and run in the opposite direction. It knew that pain came from my cat.

Had a Birman cat years ago that kept most dogs out of the yard, too. Never bothered them as along as they stayed on the sidewalk, but one toe on the grass was enough for a charge. She once defended her offspring from a visiting Malamute (roomie's boyfriend's dog); that dog would never ever come into the house afterward. Unfortunately she's no longer with us, otherwise I might suggest that she rise to Tokyo's defense. I doubt the hociR would be a match for her.
