aperture one instead of Mogen clamp is a bit radical, don't you think?

Well, the main advantage of the Mogen clamp over Plastibell, and even more so over the Gomco clamp, is speed, isn't it? I'm sure Aperture One will be order of magnitudes faster! And sharper.

And we all know that speed and sharpness trumps everything, right?

Why else would we buy f/1.2 lenses and Limiteds?

Right?

(This thread ain't safe from any topic! )

Yep, that's the reason for owning an f/1.2 lens. To not feel excluded.

In order not to feel excluded I have
- one f/1.2
- one Takumar
- one M lens
- one A lens
- one F lens
- one FA lens
- one FA Limited
- one DA Limited (ok, three)
- some DA lenses
- one DFA lens
- one proper macro lens (same as above)
- one fisheye (yes, lens)
- one rectilinear wide-angle
- one tele lens
- one lens with many iris blades
- one Soviet lens
- ...

And yet I feel excluded for not owning any K lenses. Nor any * lenses

Can't buy any K-3 now, can I

Pentax is doomed!

I owned a K50/1.2 for about a year. I rarely used it wider than f/5.6 but focusing the bright image was great. Of course focusing the bright image of my K50/1.4 was also great. And I rarely use it wider than f/5.6 either. I don't miss the stop and enjoy the $575.

I guess I am benighted.

Aren't you glad that there are no Soviet f/1.2 lenses?

Meh. Reviewers write about speed and sharpness and people argue about speed and sharpness because you can measure speed and sharpness.

How do you measure rendering? How do you quantify pixie dust?

Hey!!! Guess what!!!? People are starting to actually get 645z's in their hands and nobody has uttered a peep about hociR!!!!
