It goes a lot quicker with a couple of cheese and bacon sandwiches.

Of course you could also take the Lutefisk route and you won't even remember what you read.

Yes, once you've smoked one lutefisk you'll never again be the same.

Better than smoking a K-3, though.

How? The vile stuff is basically salted and dried fish prepared with lye. Shouldn't be much of a problem getting it to smoulder...

You, sir, have to do something with your medication.

I see you have already fallen prey to the hociR.

Sad. So sad.

But hey, once you've heard the sweet, sweet song who cares about consequences!

Napoleon XIV: 'They're coming to take me away' - YouTube

Four things bout this song.

1) First, I am old enough to remember when it first came out. I was 15.

2) It may be the world's first rap song.

3) Those whose whole life is to be offended by everything went bonkers over it.

4) Ricoh was selling a camera made by Mamiya with a Nikon F mount. Is history going to repeat iself?

Maybe I should start taking 'em again ... Doc's told me not to go "on/off" ... then "off/on" (repeat) all by myself

I was having a BBQ on Sunday at the local wildlife centre (caged animals looking bored in need of their portrait photograph), and this greying chap came over with his grandson and asked about the Canon.

Looking bemused, I asked do you mean this pot-de-fer as I started explaining the history of the cannon. He grinned and pointed at the picnic rug.

'My grandson so wishes to get into photography when he is a little older but he didn't have the words to come and ask you about you camera'

I politely said 'by all means he can have a look', forgetting that my Canon K-3 was on the rug in all it's naked glory.

The young lad crawled over to the rug and started chewing on the lens cap as I was explaining to the grandfather about the cannon, not realising what was going on to the right of me.

Suddenly I heard a giggle and turned around, the young lad had managed to roll over and lift the camera onto his tummy and was there laying on his back looking into the lens - he must have seen his reflection because the gurgle noises were just out of this world.

The grandfather told me that the young lad was 7 months old and that he had a fascination with cameras and that he already had 5 full albums of photographs - selfies, close-ups and lots with family and friends, all in all a great day and the young lad certainly got his gums around the Canon K-3.

The original Singlex* was a few years earlier than the song, but history repeating itself is maybe not a bad idea. Edit: Introduced a few years earlier (1962), but apparently still in the Ricoh line when the song was released in 1966. I was eleven at the time. end edit

Steve

* Cooperative venture by Ricoh and Mamiya and equipped with an F-mount Rikenon normal lens. It was essentially the same as the Mamiya-made Nikkorex-F. The two cameras came out of the same factory. One of the cool things about this history line is that the Copal "square" shutter continued to be a component of both the Singlex and Nikkormat lines into the 1970s.

I think Ricoh really, really needs help with their marketing. Not sayin' music shouldn't be involved, no sirree. It's just... well...

I wonder, is "tandem" referring to the dual memory card slots?

Or... Is it just another brick in the wall??

Good thing they know more about making cameras than using them
