It was too much effort last time. My prediction is that we will have a ton of posters get active, then taper off in December to not be heard from again. That's why I won't buy a K3.

Well, my predictions after reading the latest posts and seeing the price change of the K5-IIs going up $300.

1) The K3 is going to fade away. Great camera but sort of stuck in between full frame and APS-c. I do think that the age of the full frame camera is coming to an end. The next generation of sensors will simply blow the need for them out of the water. Right now, the only real reason to own full frame is to anchor the bigger glass that pros and awesome photographers like those of us on this forum use.

2) The K5 line will regenerate itself with the 20 megapixel sensor and become the K5-III? The K5-II cameras are very very good and the 20 megapixel sensor of the KS-1 would be a perfect fit for them.

3) A KF-1? Full frame DSLR will appear. On the back of it will appear he word hociR. This will make a permanent impression onto the cheek of the user that will say Ricoh. Everyone on this thread will become confused and disoriented. Some will even become totally discombobulated and the thread will fade away only to be discovered by a future generation of electo-archaeologists. As the only surviving electronic file form these times, they will then use it to paint a picture of life on earth in the early 21st Century. We will all be noted in history books as the great thinkers of our age.

4) My fourth prediction concerns me. For some strange reason, the KS-1 camera will continue to intrigue me. If I had the extra scoots, I would buy one in an instant.

Some of these predictions have some thought behind them and others are whimsical. I am not sure which is which.

Sorry I've missed the last 5k posts or so - did I miss anything?
Still won't be buying a K-3. Why not? Exactly. I may buy one in the future, but I won't; it's just that simple.

I wouldn't mind 'Ricoh' more than 'Sony' on the name plate, I only want something deeply rooted in photography.

That post is about photography and the K-3. That is far, far from normalcy for this thread.
I fear this thread is being infiltrated by infidels!

I found out something shocking this morning as I was preparing breakfast. On a whim I decided to try the omelet function of my K-3 only to discover that this feature was missing. How can this be? Does not the hociR know that all photographers should be doing omelets?

What makes things worse is that I tried to use M-mode and the process was a complete FAIL. The texture was way off and there was a non-negotiable two-egg limit. How can one make an omelet with only two eggs?

This is probably the most important reason to not buy a K-3 and the hociR be damned for the omission.

Time to start a "Why I won't buy a K-S1" thread.

Extra scoots? Who would want extra scoots? Any scoots is reason enough to not buy a K-S1!

I already have all the lenses so I'm out, really.
I have two of three. The DA 15 Limited would be nice, but I already have the Zenitar

I'll buy a K-3 when Ruger buys it, puts their name on it, and sells it with a SOCOM stock and an ammo can full of crispy bacon!

Looks a squad automatic weapon. Probably doesn't take good photos though!

Ha! Told ya so! Soon's Adam offers a tiny little incentive or two, all manner of lurkers swarm our quiet little thread and create havoc. Heck, no one even posted between Wednesday and Friday. You would think that anyone who was even the least bit interested in comparing the merits of lutefisk to igunaq would have stayed the course.
That's why I will not buy a black K3. (Are sins of omission allowed here?)

(By the way, Jean, I love the way you've customized your K3. Canikons won't be askin' you no dumb questions.)

You missed a bunch of very important stuff.

Go back, read it all and then you will be caught up and ready to re-enter this very intellectually stimulating discussion.
