There is rarely any mention of Rugby in the news here, but Soccer did get some extra exposure during the World Cup this year. Some of the cable TV sports channels will broadcast Rugby matches, but it largely depends on what package you subscribe to.

When I was still driving a truck I got laid over near Brunswick, Georgia. I walked a few blocks up from the truck stop and found a nice steakhouse to get some decent food at. I chose to eat in the bar, and the bartender had a Rugby match on.
As I enjoyed a great meal and some good beer I watched the game unfold. When I asked questions the guy was polite and patient, taking the time to explain things.
And he explained the cauliflower ear phenomenon. He said that it was caused by the way the forward players would get entangled with the opposing players, and that many forwards' wore a cap that covered their ears to help reduce the damage to their ears.
He also pointed out that many of the waiters, kitchen staff and himself played Rugby, and one of the waiters had an ear partially damaged from play.
