Hi Racer,
My other option for name calling would have been to call you a 'septic'.
We still persist with a bit of Cockney rhyming slang, which is traditionally shortened to the non-rhyming part - eg. 'yank' = 'septic tank' = 'septic',

That's quite funny! Did you hear about the AB's - USA game? I don't know how well it was covered on the news there by you.

That ain't funny, Mark.
But it does underline the 'game for thugs played by thugs" theme..

Sorry Rod. I have a strange sense of humour. I won't go so far as to call them "thugs" but it certainly is not the most intellectual of pastimes.

Have you noticed how the players don't have necks?
Their heads just nestle into the space between the shoulders.

The most offputting thing, I find, are the forwards' cauliflower ears. Odd game, indeed.

Agreed re the 28-80, but the 70-210 can render quite a sharp shot. And, I rather like the 70-300 too. How are you finding that Sigma 150-500?
It is big, but quite sharp throughout most of its range. F/8 is the sweet spot on sharpness.

There is rarely any mention of Rugby in the news here, but Soccer did get some extra exposure during the World Cup this year. Some of the cable TV sports channels will broadcast Rugby matches, but it largely depends on what package you subscribe to.

When I was still driving a truck I got laid over near Brunswick, Georgia. I walked a few blocks up from the truck stop and found a nice steakhouse to get some decent food at. I chose to eat in the bar, and the bartender had a Rugby match on.

As I enjoyed a great meal and some good beer I watched the game unfold. When I asked questions the guy was polite and patient, taking the time to explain things.

And he explained the cauliflower ear phenomenon. He said that it was caused by the way the forward players would get entangled with the opposing players, and that many forwards' wore a cap that covered their ears to help reduce the damage to their ears.

He also pointed out that many of the waiters, kitchen staff and himself played Rugby, and one of the waiters had an ear partially damaged from play.

Well if it's what I think it is there isn't a hociR on the back then, is there?

I think after I settle in I may sell my film cameras, the lenses on them of listed, and both the 28-80 and 70-210 along with the 70-300.
Wrong direction. You should be buying more cameras and lenses.

By the way, there's a 80€ cash back on K-3's, plus other gear, for X-mas in France. Still gonna hold out ...
