I've been out Christmas shopping - a bit early for me, I usually leave it until 23 or 24 December.
I missed out on another boring bit about bacon: can we give bacon a miss for a while?
It is after all the season for roast turkey, roast vegetables, plum pudding and trifle.
Is trifle popular in the land of the free? You are not really free if you can't eat trifle!

Nah, I still prefer bacon.

Actually, this is not the season for roast pudding and trifle. It's the season for pinnekjøtt - smoked, of course. Always smoked.

The average American eats 17.9 pounds of bacon per year.
Clearly, I wasn't included in this survey.

I am an above average American.

I consume well over 25 pounds of bacon annually.
52 weeks in a year. Bacon at least once a week. Yeah, same here.

Only if we can do the same for cricket.

Alright, so if the car below is designed to stop hippsters using pills ......

http://abcmoteur.fr/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/C4-Cactus-Aventure.jpg

How could you take this idea and stop people from drink alcohol, or more importantly drink driving.

So lets say we call the car Suds, and we make a molding out of plastic in the shape of a six pack, with one final beer in it .... and put it on the side. How would that stop people drinking ? or even drink driving.

I wonder if the folks at Citroen who designed the concept of the "Cactus" ....... were actually on pills at the time.

When I thought I had a fair idea that I understand the European culture and mentality ........... I have to retool !

Okay, so if you were to design a concept car aimed at disco hippster pill poppers or boozers, I think massive bumper bars would be a good start. Then a breathalyser on the ignition to check for booze or drugs, and to prevent engine start. Plus an ejector seat for good measure !

I'd call the car the "Revoke", so if you get in this car intoxicated, you'll be revoked .....Simple ! lol (anyway who cares, ya'll are talking about bacon and beer. Here's a conversation starter ..... Peanuts Bacon beer and peanuts)

Wow. I think a few of you would have an interesting chat with Freud if a car design makes you think of drugs. Quite a leap there...

Personally, I think it's an ugly car, but then I've never really been a Citroen fan.

Can't we just get back to discussing Canadian vs. US vs. UK variants of bacon? My vote is for nice, crispy US bacon, although I've never turned down any bacon type.

Ah, I suspect some here might lump the geitost into the same category of deliciousness as igunaq and haggis, but really, it tastes very good (as do igunaq and haggis, I'm sure...). When you get used to it

And it's quite common to eat geitost (and bacon!) with lutefisk.

Still can't beat pinnekjøtt, though. with mashed swede/rutabaga. Mmmmm.....
