Here's one source: Review of moderate alcohol consumption and reduced risk of coronary... - PubMed - NCBI
Here's another: Wine, alcohol, platelets, and the French paradox for coronary heart disease
and another: Alcohol May Reduce Men's Heart Risk
and another: How Alcohol Reduces Risk of Heart Attacks and other Cardiovascular Diseases
and yet another: Alcohol and Heart Disease

I was in the back working on my irrigation system for my sweet potatoes. I kept thinking about all of those bacon pics that got posted to this thread. Then I kept looking at my BBQ just sitting there, not burning meat.

I couldn't resist. I had to load it up and get it burning.

1 pound of hamburger + 1 pound of bacon = 2 bacon burgers.

Cooking with indirect heat. No charcoal. All wood. Smoked at a low temp. Max temp was about 200-250 degrees. Flip the bacon when you flip the burgers. Let the bacon juice flow through the burgers as it cooks. YUMMMM!!!!!

MMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

Lunch is ready.
That does it!

The next time Mrs. Racer fires up the grill to fix me dinner (something she does 4 or 5 times a week) I'm gonna take pictures!

It was all I had at the time, and it didn't matter. The taste of the bacon and burger smoked together overrode every other taste.
Dude.

You're supposed to say, "Why that's Texas Toast, the only thing we use in Texas! And that is some real good aged sharp cheddar cheese trying to melt away there, but after all the work I put into those burgers, spending too much time lookin' at 'em and takin' pichers of 'em was the last thing I wanted ta do! Besides, my beer was gettin' warm!"

You won't need a flash: just move the Christmas tree closer and correct for white balance

Yeah. It should be lutefisk-pictures in December, I agree.
I don't know how to cook it without it falling through the grating on the BBQ pit.

Thanks for showing food that makes us want to eat it.

Like you, I am not much for avocado but my wife likes it.

The other platter looks great. Was that a cheese in the bowl?

Hi Tim,
Yep, avocado is just fatty vegetable fat.
I can't recall all the stuff on the plate. I was at a luncheon with a lot of agribusiness people, early 2012, and the winery put on a fine spread of local produce, some of it liquid!
I was always a bit out of place with this group as I am not into wine or really smelly cheese or savoury spreads.
(I guess the mod will be onto me soon as I have now rejected smelly cheese as well as lutefisk.)
