It's interesting how one can make almost everything sound incredibly disgusting just through phrasing - I just had the semen of Malus domestica and it was delicious

Hmm... I thought that would be a swollen hypanthium. But I'm no botanist.

I was trying to make an analogy, I'm well aware that plants don't technically produce semen Considering I didn't even have the seeds themselves, I guess it wasn't even the analogue.

Wait a minute! If geology is the science which deals with the physical structure and substance of the earth, what then do you mean by analogy? Or would that be anallogy??

FantasticMrFox is on the right lines

Pyrus coronaria Meanings
Intoxicating by their very nature, Pyrus coronaria are symbolic of heady love, peace, sensuality, and fertility.
Pyrus coronaria (and trees) were honored by the ancient Celts as a symbol of love, and they would decorate their bedchambers with these Pyrus coronaria to entice amorous nights.

This is not my speciality, I'm afraid you've gotta ask an analogist. You could also ask Dr. Tobias Fünke from Arrested Development, an analyst and therapist and thus the world's first self-styled 'analrapist'.

God, this thread derailed quickly ...

That better not be sarcasm or, even worse, satyr. He is the one who saved this thread from the oblivion it so rightly deserved and from Adam the Terrible and his little band of thought police on the moderator board.

What a dumb question. It's the chicken. Who ever heard of an egg laying a chicken? Please try to keep on topic from here on in. And try to keep in tune with the cognitive complexities embodied here.

Ha! But, at some point in the distant past, a chicken's forebear, which was not quite a chicken, but almost a real chicken, but not quite, one DNA step away, must have laid an egg, which contained an actual chicken, thereby proving, conclusively, that an egg came before a chicken. Or not!
