Well, nobody seems to be interested in discussing pinnekjøtt. And I doubt you'll be much help either

Ok, you choose the topic, then. Just don't wander too far off topic!

Does it matter? As long as you don't wander too far off it, of course.

There really isn't that much to discuss about pinnekjøtt though. But sure, here's a topic: how do you get your ribbe crispy?

I don't. So not much of a topic for me Pork is good for bacon and not much else...

But of course there is lots to discuss about pinnekjøtt. Smoked or not? (smoked, of course! ) How is a proper turnip/swede/rutabaga mash made? (Without potatoes or carrots, of course!)

Ooh, kålstappe is important, for sure! it's with potatoes AND carrots. and plenty of butter.

I usually used corn or potatoes for the mash. Higher sugar content for alcohol production.

No, no, no!

I'm OK with butter, although whipping cream is preferable. And a pinch of salt. But absolutely no potatoes or carrots! Potatoes on the side, sure, but kålrotpotetgulrotstappe is not proper kålrotstappe! It's just not the same thing, and should not be served together with pinnekjøtt. So there.

I can accept no carrots, but the consistency is all wrong if you don't add at least a little bit of potatoes!

Try some pit roasted pork sometime. Slow cooked back ribs are a distant second.

It's a good thing there's 1150 km (or 1750 km by car) between us! That way there is little chance for us sharing a meal...

I'd take a good beef steak over pork roast any day.

But sure, cured ham can be very, very tasty.
