Yup, our poor moderator caught a bug, and he'll need a new firmware!

We don't know what FW he is already on!
Do the latest FW versions apply to his model, or only to newer models?
If the latest FW does apply, what happens if his battery is exhausted during the upgrade?
I would recommend EXTREME caution: I'd go so far as to say a novice shouldn't even attempt it!
Back to the shop!

I thought you couldn't update the firmware on legacy models.

Reports of my demise have been greatly slightly exaggerated.

Yup, likely still too busy barfing. Hopefully it is just a bug and not the Neverending Flu.... :P

Fortunately, no barfing, no coughing, just sore throat and general malaise, minor aches and pains. Definitely not flu, just a basic viral syndrome. Just about over it now. 3 days isn't bad. I've had this sort of thing last a week or more.
My wife claims that being sick makes me cranky. I don't see it, myself.

Something slightly different.

All I had with me was my 300*. I could see this in the distance, and it didn't look much like a boat to me. This is a crop of the original image just to show the excavator.

It was there for a few hours, never moved, and nobody was inside operating it. Random fishing boats would pull up alongside it to look at it then leave. Makes you wonder if it got flooded out and wouldn't run.

The original image showing how far away it was, even for 300mm.

What will a fw upgrade fix anyway? Apart from the general bug fixing, of course.

I mean, he has no problems with bouncing! No overexposure (thank yer gods). No runaway tongue flapping... Well, nothing calling for a battery pull, anyway!

Stop showing pictures of 300 or 200. I am not interested with those lenses!

I repeat, I am NOT interested.. I am NOT... I am...

Clearly, you haven't read all of my posts! (especially back when we had a P&R forum. )

I did hear that freezing something preserves it well. South Dakota is frozen for a good portion of the year. Maybe that's what keeps the vintage mod around.

I'm not clicking that. I'm done with LBA. I'm done with Pentax.

I want a GR Seriously. But I'm finding it expensive to shell out $600 for a P&S.

(Besides, can you tell me how to hide a 300mm lens from Mrs. drypenn? I'm going to get killed with that! :P)
