It's not. It's made in the Philippines.

Yup, right across my yard.

If I look hard enough, I can actually see what the minions are doing.

Hello, and welcome to Fox News!
Your Penatx says "Made in France", too? Cool.

Fox News ... Jumbo Shrimp ... same difference.

Nutella's not French, eh ?!

My jar says "Made in France" ... so there.

Next thing you know, you guys and gals are going to tell me that "no-go" zones do not exist in Paris.

And my jar says "Australian made", and "Made by Ferrero Australia Pty Ltd".

So it is Australian?

No ... it's French, I tell you.

They just do that "lil' white lie" to gain your consumer confidence and purchasing power ... tricky, eh ?!

Nutella actually is Italian but they have factories all over the place. Each jar reflects the local factory usually. Note there can be a bit of a difference in composition depending upon what part of the world they're selling it in. I'm told that European Nutella is supposedly a lot better than the American made stuff. The same company also makes the Ferrero candies, like Rocher and Mon Cheri. Basically it's just Hazelnut Gianduja made spreadable in a jar. I have tried other similar products but honestly I don't think any of them are as good as Nutella.

I think our dear Jean actually knows that, he's just trying to enhance the reputation of the Grand Nation by claiming Nutella for them. In German we call that 'sich mit fremden Federn schmücken', literally 'to dress oneself in others' feathers'. God, I love direct translations of German sayings

I know, I was just informing others in the thread who might not know. The history of Nutella is kind of interesting actually. Technically his particular jar is French, in that it was made in a local French factory, but the company that created and owns Nutella is Italian and the product is considered so also. The stuff that goes into it comes from all over the place actually when you get down to it. I think it's lovely stuff myself. Next best thing to really good praline chocolates when I can't afford that. When it comes down to it I'd still prefer Neuhaus or Godiva, but in a punch Nutella will do me when I want that kind of thing...
