But you're in France! You have... snails. Ahh, nevermind. You should import some chili and hot dogs.
There are times that I thought of air mailing stuff from the "Coney I-lander" in Tulsa. (see previous image posted)

Looks like they serve Sonic style ones. Trust me, if you've had a Cincinnati style one you can never go back. The chili tastes off and the cheese is a mere pittance.

Noted ... it's just a lot of hometown nostalgia.

Kind of like for Weber's Root Beer ... on Peoria Avenue, the once main drag for Friday and Saturday nights.

Ooooooooooooh, that my friend is a long story.

In one sentence: Bored OU student goes on international exchange program to Clermont-Ferrand to gain back his "lost French" and meets extremely cute redheaded French girl towards the end of that same exchange period.

The rest, history.

But the thread only has received 2377 thumbs up, so you should rather work on that. Per post that is almost nothing.

How long has it been since you've been back to the US?

We took the whole family there about three years ago for three weeks during X-mas when my Mom was ill. She's doing fine now and hopefully she'll come over for the month or more this Spring/Summer. Hopefully, we can come back again soon ... not easy with three kids and leaving a dog and cat behind in France.

How big of a culture shock is it for them?

Not really a big deal. We have tons of books, DVD's and some TV in English (now, Disney & etc.) ... so that helped with the language bit, plus I speak in English to the girls ... except when I get angry, then I tend to yell in French. The girls took it all in stride, but had some difficulties with the accents of southeastern Oklahoma where my mom lives now. It was a good trip.

I was surprised in Belgium, Germany, and The Netherlands how pretty well everyone spoke English. Is t that way there?

Just some sad news. Well, for some of you.

Father of Nutella dies.

Y'all needs to eat your bacon sans Nutella from now on.

...or maybe somebody else can take over the production?

I have never had that stuff.

I also have no plan to have any of it. You have to eat it on bread. Gluten free bread sucks.

Depends. The French are not as good as the "average" German (etc.) IMHO ... some French are quite well versed. Others, well ... it's not too great at all.
