That's because it is plastic!
We used to have it here in Oz when I was a kid - I haven't seen it for 50 years (at least).

We are not going to overtake the mother thread without Racer and Jean. Has anyone thought to PM them and let them know that the son of no K3's is alive?
Mr P would also help the post count, but he'd probably just shoot the fox again.

Picture un Québécois like a Texan. They have their own language, their own cuisine, they do weird things with cheese, they have beautiful women and they treat the Federal Goverment with the same respect Otis gives to Red Shoulders - a large predatory nuisance that disrupts the normal course of life. Something to be wary of but, largely, to be ignored.

You Ozzies found it too tasty and went over to Vegemite instead. Even the timeline you gave makes sense - Vegemite became increasingly popular after Australian soldiers returned from WWII where they grew used to it and demanded it at home too. My personal theory is that Vegemite was added to the rations in order to make the horrors of battle less horrible in comparison

Sorry Mr Fox, the timeline is all wrong! Vegemite was introduced to the Aussie cuisine in 1923. I think developed by a Fred Walker (but don't quote me on that) and later ended up in the Kraft stable.
Please refrain from any more wicked lies, or I'll set the mOd (wherever he is) onto you!

If it were these days we could charge him with a crime against humanity in the World Court, at least those of us who live in countries that recognize the World Court could.

That's when it was introduced, yes. But it gained its immense popularity the way I described it. By the end of the 1940s 9 out of 10 Australian households had a jar of vegemite on the shelf.

We have friendly spiders (some) but much fewer friendly snakes.
You may recall from that "other" thread that our snakes are protected species, so if you send one, I'm done!

He probably should have been hauled off to Brussels for summary justice.

Most likely he got a medal from the beer industry - it was made originally from their by-product.

I know - we actually had brown snakes on ANU campus around the applied maths cottages which can't be removed as they are protected. I guess that means mathematicians are not protected, and neither are you

Mr. Fox was thinking of cordite, not Vegemite. There's a strong resemblance between the two.
