That's a lot of tumble weeds.
I've seen freeways closed from tumbleweeds piling up and blocking the lanes.

Flame away.

Oh, I don't think this is something worth flaming over. In fact, talking things out over a couple beers is the best way to go.

Here, have the first round on me.

You see, this is my philosophical perspective on everything:

Without beer, well, we'd all be drinking water or something.

Really.

Remember.

In wine there is wisdom.

In beer there is strength.

In water there is bacteria.

This isn't tumbleweed, but it is grass stalks/seed that blows around and accumulates!!
My front verandah after a couple of very windy days.

That's what we have here, or something that looks identical to it. On a windy day, it's blowing all over the back roads.

What a mess!

In my neck 'o the woods we have the white fluffy crap from the cottonwood trees in the spring. At the peak it looks like there is snow everywhere.

Don't remind me! We had snow just a couple of days ago... All melted again now, though I can almost start believing spring is finally here!

March and April are fickle months, though. Can't trust'em. Which is why I need my K-3.

Wait...

In German we say "Der April, der April, der macht was er will." which roughly translates to "April, April, does whatever he wants to." But it rhymes.

Oh, I've never thought of the months as having a gender. Or is there just an implied "Monat" there?

Yeah, I know, it would ruin both rhythm and rhyme

Every German noun has a gender, and most are totally arbitrary. The fork is female, the spoon is male and the knife is neuter. The lens is neuter, the camera is female, the screen is male, the shutter is male, the mirror too, the strap is female and so is the lens hood

But all the months are male, maybe because some of them are named after Roman politicians?

Lots of gender in French. As you may know " la / elle " for feminine and " le / il " for masculine ... but here's one for you.

Let's say you fill the Stade de France in Paris with 50,000 women ... you would address them as "they" by saying "elles" ... feminine plural. Elles sont belles.

Add one guy to the stadium crowd and you then have to address them as "ils" ... masculine plural. Ils sont beaux ... Cool, eh?!

Yep, same in Italian. Talking about a group of young girls? Le ragazze. One guy coming along? I ragazzi.

To be honest, I keep making fun about the absolutely non-logical imperial system Americans use - then I think of my own language and immediately think I'd better shut up

Is it not the same in Norwegian?

I don't know. But did you know that 'Brot' is German for 'bread' and when I see your username I always think of you as a loaf of bread named Steve?
