Yes, we can always tell where someone is walking because all the dogs in that area will start barking. The dangerous thing that happened was new yrs eve when the neighbors across the street from me decided to let their kids pop fire crackers all night. I had to sedate my dog, the elderly people next to me had a very small chihuaha that was terrified, and I was the only one to check on the German shepherd next door, he had been left outside. The next morning the kids were back at it, I had to go to work and I wasn't sedating my dog again so I had to be "that neighbor" and I called the police out to make them quit. The point is, there were very large dogs next door to these people, if any of them had become terrified and escaped it would of been their children out in the yard to get bit. Stupid really stupid besides it being illegal to set of firecrackers in town. They could have went to a country area to do it. Sheesh, I thought it would be several impromptu fire crackers but it turned out to be 6 hrs of it and then the next morning too.... Until the heat arrived, lol
