Heh, we ran into that going thru Astoria on a Sunday afternoon. Bumper to bumper, stop-n-go for miles down 30/101... Urgh...

Is that as a spacer to keep your eye the right distance from the viewfinder to suit the optical design? Surely there must be an easier way.

Say what? Don'tcha mean with the smartphone on the end of a smart stick looking away from the nice scenery, so the focus (pun intended) of the image is self, with loverly scene OOF in background, so you can show all your 'friends' what you did on your holidays?
