See, this is what happens when we insist on having stuff as cheaply as can be. The proprietor is in business to make money, so the wages are cut, resulting in entry level jobs that attract the youngest, most inexperienced workers. Additionally the employer may have cut more corners by not devoting time and resources to educate workers about proper and safe handling of chemicals in the workplace, resulting in the lye getting placed in an unmarked container.

A terrible and tragic outcome that may have been avoided if we just wanted to pay a little more for our Fast Food.

I suspect a majority of Americans drink iced tea with added sugar, but in the south most folks drink sugar with a little added tea.

I used to drink iced tea (no sugar) but now, in my late 60's, my only fluid intake is water, coffee, milk, bourbon, occasional Bloody Mary, occasional beer, and a glass of wine at Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Can't recall the last time I had a pop, soda, soft drink, coke or whatever it's called in your locale.

As it is I have to fight my way onto the plane early to make sure there's space for my small backpack in the overhead holds.

Since it isn't hunting or fishing season all of the meat that winds up on my plate comes from the grocer or directly from the local rancher at a small butcher shop set up right there in front of the barns and the rancher's home. I didn't have to kill it to eat it, I guess that makes me a vegetarian.

Sorry. Let me rephrase. If it is animal product that involved the animal being killed prior to consumption, vegetarians won't eat it. So things like eggs, dairy and honey are OK.

That yellow area needs to cover south Texas. All the restaurants here give us a choice of sweet or unsweet tea. The sweet tea everyone prefers is akin to hummingbird water, once I tried mixing half sweet tea and half unsweetened and it was still so sugary my cousins from Arkansas remarked that it was still too sweet.

I would think all or most of Texas would be covered. I seem to be in the minority in my area, anyway. My husband likes that hummingbird water. Yuck... Makes me want to gag.

I prefer iced water no lemon (I like lime.) and the odd Mexi-Coke. I like the smell of coffee beans but not coffee. The only iced or hot tea I will drink is some kind of fruit herbed tea. That's nice during the Summer sometimes. I like to get some peach herb tea and use honey but regular iced tea, nah. Standard tea and coffee are just too bitter for me and no amount of sugar or flavoring can change that. Water is the main beverage for me though. I drink 10-12 glasses a day minimum. In this climate you have to unless you want to end up severely dehydrated...

I average 100 ounces of water daily. I love my morning coffee.. black, no sugar. Sometimes a glass of wine in the evening. Unsweet tea, when I drink it. I occasionally drink various herbal teas, green tea, or peach tea. On rare occasions, I'll indulge in a soda.
