Usually I would agree with you but I have at least 2 hour's work ahead of me in terms of picking up the mess my cats made last night. I jokingly call my boy my "4 footed wrecking crew" but last night girl cat decided to do him one better and knock down an entire corner of storage boxes. So I now have all the stuff I stored in like 18 boxes all dumped out onto the floor. To add insult to injury he came around right after that and dumped a lamp, another couple of storage boxes, and my printer. It was like the two of them got together and plotted to trash the entire living room area.

Oh, and the night before last, he dumped 4 right on top of me. Fortunately that was just blankets I store on my bookshelf headboard or I'd be probably nursing a concussion about now. Some people walk into my house and just think I'm just messy. Hmph, little do they know. I am actually quite the organizer and I do like things tidy. Problem is I have two cats who are seemingly determined that I shall never see the floor again in this decade! I spent literally hours last week organizing that room only to have them trash it in probably less than 60 seconds, no kidding! These two, it's like having 10 toddlers hyped up on sugar running around!

I'm in the foto if you switch to LV and handle the cam to someone the focus is 95% right I was said my camera is way too intelligent (K3 + 0) and DA40 is no lens but if you want to be super compact..

I see Schrodinger also showed up!

I am rarely in pictures at a con since I am generally behind a camera, even though I am cosplaying. I've been to about 150 conventions.

My new favorite con lens is my Sigma 18-35 f/1.8.

👍 but out of my budget..I'll get a longer prime. I'm used to switch lenses on the go. It's easy.

DA40 is not a WR but it can stand a slight rain without problems

May I see samples ?

Sure, but keep in mind I forgot my flash, so the hall shots are not anywhere near what they could be. It was actually darker in there than the shots show. I was glad that I could pull out the shadows some.

These were also really quick shots because I don't actually do photoshoots at cons. I'm too busy having fun.

I have both my Opteka DG790 (which works awesome with the K5 and K3) and my Pentax 540fgz.

Now, cats, we need them. Cheese and bacon too.

Ohh, anyone want lutefisk?

Would you save the pecan pie for 'later'?
Ha, yes, that had a nice surreal ring to it. I would have probably not saved it for later no. It does make you wonder though.

It could be worse. In South Africa, a 'ute' is a 'bakkie', pronounced to rhyme with ducky, but with a 'b'. 'Bakkie' means literally, a small container. This makes less sense to me that 'ute' which is from 'utility'.

And in Germany it's a given name - my mother happens to be an 'Ute'

WARNING!!! K-3 Dangerous to other cameras!!

Yeah, I know...thousands of posts of light-hearted jest and a lot of talk about the hociR and the plans to take over the world and such, but we missed the real peril of owning a K-3.

I have just discovered that it is NOT SAFE WITH OTHER CAMERAS! I was doing an introductory photoshoot of my newly acquired Mamiya Six 120 folder and no sooner did I turn my back then the K-3 ATTACKS the poor little folder.

Pentax K-3 Attacks!

It was all I could do to pull the K-3 off the much less well-equipped older camera. Fortunately neither was damaged in the encounter*, though I have vowed to never turn my back on the K-3 from here on out when other cameras are present.

Steve

* There were a few bite marks on the Slik's legs, but that sort of thing is simply one of those things if you are a tripod.
