Yep. I once made someone say 2 Hail Ricohs and 3 Our Takumars to get back in the thread.
Also, I think I made Norm cry once, but I can't comfirm that.

I can't confirm that you can't confirm that, but I did hear someone repeating a rumoured hearsay claiming that Norm is a crybaby.

But you didn't hear that from me.

Although black&white televisions where quite common in my youth I am sure this series predates my experience with television. Somehow my earliest memory is of a band called Hot Chocolade with one band member dancing quite feverishly. So no, I just asked of you all to carry on with this most eclectic thread of the forum.

Fries, welcome to the thread that should never have started, never should have been allowed to continue, but refuses to die.
Your contribution is welcome and I see that you have already endeared yourself to our dearly loved moderator who has given you a 'like'.
You did mention a camera in your post, but as the Mod has said before 'one small infraction is forgivable" (or words like that) so you are safe for now.
But be warned that Pollux, no, Parallel, no, Parallax (yes) can be severe at times.
Rod, thank you! Somehow a more than modest sprinkling of likes has been bestowed upon me after my entry in this thread. I never thought that seeing the king (the one on the left) up close would amount to this wonderful, dare I say, almost royal welcome to this thread. And yes I have seen Parallax in action and do realize that his 'rule' is not bound by the boundaries of countries like mine and as such could potentially be more powerful than Willem-Alexander.

Parachutemax can (will?) correct correct me if I'm out of line, but cameras are OK to mention in this thread, as long as they don't have the live hicoR mark on them. As a K-5 owner, along with the camera that must not be named, I can confirm there is no mark that would shame it in this thread. I realize I am very close to crossing the line here, so I will promptly submit to 10 lashes with a Canikon neck strap. Dipped in butter, of course. Does anyone have any bacon?
Would pork sausage do the trick? And I have some mustard for dipping...

NB : Both have cheese in hand ... so, is this another evil twin thing (again ) ....
I am afraid not even the king was able to get a hold of those cheese holders. He left with only three tiny Edammer cheeses. I suppose each for every princess. (He has three...) And that was for opening a whole cheese factory! I wouldn't be worried about the evil twin thing.

Every now and then someone questions the point of this thread. And, then we have the enlightening post of Fries here who, in one post gets it right by talking of black and white TV, chocolate, dancing, kings and princesses, pork, mustard and cheese. Bravo! Goed gedaan!

The band's founder passed away last month, BTW.

Not sure if he owned a 645Z, although he did sing 'You sexy thing.'

I received this in an email today. It seems relevant here.

90% Of People Can't Pronounce This Whole Poem. You Have To Try It.

If you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you will be speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the world.
And remember...
I before E except after C, and in words that sound like neighbor and weigh, and "weird science".

When I went to primary school I used to like to anoy the teacher by literally applying rules like that that the teacher taught.

Anyway, I eventually discovered that this rule is not true, but I replaced it with one which is true:
"'I' before 'E' except after 'C' except where it is not."
Now that is a rule of spelling which is ALWAYS true.
It is not very useful because it does not give guidance which gets one right most of the time.

Also, it is a good example of a non-scientific statement: it cannot possibly be falsified because it is structured in a non-falsifiable form. That makes it useful in a research methods course I teach.
