DVD? Isn't that a bit 90ies?

You shouldn't be shooting with one of these, should you??
I picked up one of those at my thrift shop ... boxed and all. Couldn't resist for 3€ !

PS - It's hidden up in the attic, because some day it will be worth mega-bucks !!!

More noughties than 90s - the Season 3 collection wasn't released on DVD until 2005, and there never was a Blu-Ray collection. (Considering we're talking Rocky and Bullwinkle, where even TV resolution showed dust and smudges on the cels, I don't think it's necessary.) Plus, Steve gets a pass for having a VHS collection, but I'm out of date for having DVDs???

That's the difference between vintage and out of date

Ah, but you should use it. I'm sure you'd be creating art with it!

Or you could let Kai at Digital Rev borrow it for his Cheap Camera challenge.

Oops, forgot it's worth megabucks

Does that still work? Those were the first cameras I used in my Web Design class. I should have taken one from the storage cupboard when I retired. God knows no one was using them.

I don't know if mine works. I was so excited to get it that I quickly rat-packed up in a deep corner of the attic.

Dead or alive, it will be worth MEGA-bucks someday !

I am so far ahead of my time, I've looped back around a couple times and am coming up from behind again! It only looks like I'm behind the times!

(That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.)

Ironic, innit? Betamax was actually better than VHS, but Sony wouldn't license anyone to use the format. (In best Daffy Duck voice: "Mine, mine! All mine!")
JVC was a little more forward looking with VHS.

Right in the same timeframe was the Firestone 500 tire issue. One of the jokes of the day was:

Worst pick-up line ever? "Hey babe; I just put some Firestone 500s on my Pinto. Want to go for a drive?"

Of course, a few years later there was a related story by NBC about how dangerous the side tanks on Chevy/GMC pickups were. How they would explode in a side impact crash.
NBC news staged a side crash that yielded a rather dramatic explosion. What they didn't say at the time was that in testing they couldn't actually get one to explode so for the story they rigged it with explosives. Somebody blew the whistle on them and, if I remember right, more than one NBC was unemployed after the story about the story came out.
I remember that, IIRC.
