No way to sugar-coat it...

The winner of the So Cal Auto Club's photo contest was taken with a Canon Rebel XT.

I guess I over-bought.

OK.

I've caused enough trouble for one night. Really, I blame it on the MPK fumes. Talk about hallucinations. And the noise is so severe that my ears ring constantly now. Mrs. Racer and I took a two week vacation the last week of August and the first week of September. Drove about 4,500 miles on the backroads of the Rocky Mountains and the (mostly) Eastern Slope of the Cascade and Sierra ranges.

Do you know how dark and quiet Death Valley is at midnight?

Yet the ringing was deafening for me.

The Milky Way was spectacular.

Same for the Craters of the Moon park out in Idaho.

Still, ring, ring, ring.

At least the fog caused by the MPK fumes had pertty much faded away on the second day as we dug Thunder Eggs at Richardson Rock Ranch in Eastern Oregon.

OK, say goodnight Gracie.

Tomorrow I put the finishing touches on my tiny part of wing number 1,360.

Left.
