It'll follow a draft set of standards, and be misrepresented by the Marketing Department.

And the user interface will be clunky and incomprehensible to most people.

"Misrepresented" must be the understatement of the year.

Actually, I would probably find it clunky, but comprehensible. Much worse with people who are like Macs - slick, yet illogical and utterly incomprehensible

Yes, lots of personality. I am not a "real" engineer, but when I was in graduate school at U. British Columbia the engineers (referred to as "gears") had probably the most personality of any student group on campus. They were known for elaborate pranks. One of the most benign was to steal the speaker's chair from the provincial parliament in Victoria (BC) and install it in the UBC president's office* in Vancouver.

* Or maybe it was the university board room. There was also the hoisting on an automobile to the top of the campus clock tower and the infamous "Godiva Ride" through center campus.

Yes, I don't know whether it was an above-community-average representation of Aspergers individuals or the sheer volume of alcohol consumed, but regrettable stunts at Monash University happened too.

An Engineering Dean didn't publicise that the apple tree in one courtyard was grown from the one Isaac Newton allegedly sat under, lest it became a high profile target. (Sigh).

I'm sure all those mischief makers are now doyens of society, but they were high-maintenance back then! ☺

We seem to have strayed a bit OT here.
[waits for laughter to subside]
[still waiting]

So, I'm resisting the temptation to take advantage of the low prices and buy a 2nd k-3 because all the deals seem to include a lens I don't want.

Also bacon.

Those prices would certainly be tempting if the Canadian dollar hadn't tanked.
