Nice. What sort of video card are you running?

Stuck with on-board graphics for the moment ie. ran out of money, an upgraded vid. card has to wait. The build in graphics is 4k (24fps) so good for now.

Nah. Just an observation. A lot of them even have the OG strap & the body cap. I guess I've always viewed my cameras as useful objects without consideration to a potential buyer in the distant future. Same with cars.

I wouldn't worry about it, Amy. It shouldn't hurt the resale value by more than a couple hundred dollars.
Resale? What's that?

I've noticed something about the sale listings in our Marketplace. A lot of these listings have the boxes, papers, original caps, straps, all the miscellaneous cords. It's mind boggling. I'm pretty sure I lost the hot shoe cover within the first week & I'm certain that the little viewfinder cover was probably thrown out with the box...
I keep the boxes and put the various accessories I don't need in them. That way I know where the DVDs and various cables are when time comes to sell. As for the viewfinder cover...I have one in the bag (came with my Ricoh XR7 film camera back in the early 1980s), but seldom use it. My thumb works just great.

Same here. I built my box last year and so far the built-in graphics are quite adequate for my needs. Like yours, mine will support 4K, but who can afford a 4K monitor

That is when you part with your lightly used treasure for far less than it is really worth to you.

It's an obscure method for financing camera purchases, mostly used by people who have run out of spare organs.

Steve
Why would I ever do that?

I'll just pimp out my nursing license.

The AF-200FGs that I ordered from eBay came in. So, I've been playing with them. Made myself a redneck diffuser. Out of bubble wrap & a hair pony. My selected victims are now stumbling around, sufficiently blinded for the next fifteen minutes at least.

Should've mentioned that you needed some, I have one that I would pay postage on to send you.

Oh, they weren't a need. I have a couple big 360 flashes that I never use. Mostly because I don't really know how (yet). These were really cheap NIB & they're really only just a bigger, more powerful onboard flash since you can't turn them or angle them. Bubble wrap is very useful y'all!

I picked mine up last Black Monday or whatever it was after Black Friday, when all the online deals hit.

I love it and hate it. It makes my good photos look really good, but makes all my bad photos look REALLY bad. Started to question whether my photo skills were worthy of my claims of mediocrity.

But Dragon Age: Inquisition and Witcher 3 are awesome in 4k

Here's what I wrote after a couple months of using one:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/173-general-photography/284941-beware-4k-...ml#post3105276

Here's what I have:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/aoc-28-led-4k-uhd-monitor-black/1206341.p?id=121...&skuId=1206341

(edit) Sorry posted wrong link. It's important because the AOC is a 60Hz refresh. The ASUS is only 30hz

That looks pretty nice. I might have to keep an eye out for the black Friday deals.

Yep, bubble wrap, that white foamy sheet they wrap electronics in is nice, and anything made out of HDPE (milk jugs, rubbing alcohol bottles). All great for seeing large spots before your eyes instead of small ones!
