I don't think it's useful at all.

Rule of alcohol: I can cause all levels of stupid on my own, so why add to it with outside chemical stimulation!!
Bag of fireworks and a gun or two, and I'm good to go! A day like that usually involves a lot of "Hey! Watch this!"

I thought it was used for cooking - as fuel, that is, in an alcohol burning stove.

Well, not sure about the usefulness for cleaning, but they both do an excellent job of creating hangovers.

And both may be useful as fuel somehow.

But I'm thinking that hangovers are where they find their primary usefulness. That and getting panties on the floor quickly.

My husband used to use Everclear as a solvent for something. I think I still have a bottle of that stuff.

The only thing I've seen it good for is inducing vomiting. Now if that is what your shooting for in an evening, go for it!

A bar in Iowa City used to pour it down the counter and light it on fire. Great trick! The drunk college kids loved it! That is until they burnt the bar down!!

I'm back! At least I think. I had a full three-in a row exam week last week, followed by double christmas parties on friday and saturday. So i could barely move yesterday-- I may still be closer to 20 than 30, but my body can't process alcohol for anything.

Everclear is just pure grain ethyl alcohol. It should work well as a slovent.
We had 100% ethanol on the hospital formulary. It was for wound irrigation for people who were allergic to other antimicrobials. It could also be give to stop premature labor, but was rarely used for that. The interesting thing is that it was on the formulary as a Schedule II drug just like morphine and Demerol. The reason it was controlled is so it wouldn't inexplicably "dissappear".

I don't know how "pure" it is, but it sure is foul.

In all fairness, you can't have stable 100% ethanol at STP, so 'pure ethanol' is more like 97%. But yeah, you can imagine how heavily regulated it is in Norway.

Back in my day the drink of choice for panty removal was Southern Comfort. It took a little longer, but was sneaky stuff and it said right on the label, "Great for stubborn panty removal".
The other benefit over Everclear, is that if you just had to kiss them, it wouldn't burn your tongue!
Regards!

Had a couple of brains doing Dixie cup shots of the product at the local ethanol plant. They were hospitalized, sobered up and then fired!
The fun part is, what isn't used in gas is used in Hawkeye brand booze!

Southern Comfort is the only drink I've ever had that, I believe, could be made less sweet by mixing it with pancake syrup.
