First Amy, then Mrs. Racer, then you two, and now me.

Grrrrr . . . . . . . . I really dislike being ill.
Don't worry. You'll feel better once the symptoms go away.

No. They own the pole that the service drop line originates from. MY pole in my yard with my meter, external breaker & masthead are mine. The meter itself is power company property. This would be akin to your home's masthead snapping & having to have an electrician out for that.

Mrs. Racer and I passed through Ft. Bragg on New Year's Eve, and spent the night in Garberville, in the heart of Humboldt county.

We traveled the 1 highway almost exclusively from Ventura all the way to Oregon. Yesterday morning we saw a herd of elk along the way. I stopped to take a photo or two. As I moved across a fence at the edge of the pasture they were grazing in one of the cows advanced toward me. She had her hackles up, and looked ready to charge me.

I kept facing her raised my arms, growled and hissed like a cougar. Had I not taken an offensive posture, it is certain she would have attacked me.

A cow elk is about the same size as a large horse.

Things would not have gone well for me, to be sure.

Lady Luck was watching over me, I think.

And a K3 would have been useless in my defense.
I was driving my mom and step dad's blue Chrysler minivan with a fold up ramp on the back and them in it. We pulled over at quite a few stops. Perhaps we passed!

Probably did cross paths. I saw about a zillion minivans. Almost as many minivans out there as there are Subarus.

I thought so.

I've had two places where the setup was like yours. One was a manufactured home (a mobile really), and the other was a hobby farm, with several poles, two meters, and wires .

Sounds like standard electric utility stuff.

Yep.

Except I'm cheap and would do the work myself and save a few bucks.

Oh, and the utilities are underground from to road to the transformer, and then the house, so no mast or pole to break. What is a pain is the power and phone out on the road are overhead, so when the wind blows or snow knocks trees and branches down the power and phone get torn down.

Like this (last winter, but it happens at least once each year).

Over the top.

The roll should always be oriented so the paper unrolls over the top and outwards, like the roll on the left.

Any other way is incorrect.

One of my cats, years ago, loved to unroll the tp. I thought it was hilarious. My wife didn't. We fashioned a guard from a plastic milk bottle to shield it.

I have cats. Over is good, under is evil, and it is also incorrect according to the original patent on TP.

My mom had a cat who was un-naturally disciplined. She never got on counters. She knew what chairs she could and couldn't sit on. She knew she could only sleep on the part of the bed with a towel on it. If you said, "good night, Kit", she would go to her room. But if you left the bathroom door open and the roll turned the "right" way, you were going to be picking up TP.

Clearly, some people care quite a lot about this. It's never occurred to me to give a sh*t about it.
