Its a Hummer. Made for fighting war.

Not supposed to be comfortable.
Very true, they are build for a purpose.
The newer ones pay more attention to the crew comfort, ie air-conditioning.

Senility....fatigue....carelessness.....sloppy work habit....?????

I just spent two hours drilling a very hard concrete floor with anchor holes to hold base anchors for some cabinets. Every damn hole was off by a mile.
I can't recall ever making such a critical mistake in concrete drilling, knowing how difficult it is to begin with. They were not even off in a predictable pattern...just random holes relating to....nothing? Too tired to even try to figure it out tonight, but I am going to bed very unhappy.

Regards!

Assuming you couldn't catch a shepherd, of course!
No, a kid over here said it contains shepherds. On the BBC, so the facts must be right - at least that a kid said that.

Old carpenter's maxim; measure twice, cut once.
It probably applies to drilling too: measure twice drill once.

Epoxy Jim.

Epoxy.

Fill the holes with epoxy.

Then carefully lay it all out, and give it your best.

It will all work out.

Lemme see...

First I needed some sleep. I know the need for sleep is supposed to become less with age, but then I guess I don't qualify for geezerhood. Yet.

Second, the bast... gentleman who pays me a token sum every month seems to expect me to not only show up at work, but to actually do something worky

I have a similar problem.

Five years, eight months, one day.

Then I can officially be classified as a teeter.

Soon.

Soon.

Oh, I know it's a Humvee. But, I consider them reasonably comfortable. I'm interested why your's is not. But then, I've driven a variety of military 4x4's and 6x4's and civilian 4x4's so comfort is relative!

When I was a truck driver one of the runs I would get was jet engine thrust reversers for the C17 military planes. Went into several of the Air Force bases where the airwings were based. At Charleston, South Carolina (I went to this one the most) I was driven around in one of their Hummers.

Now this part of the country is known for hot, humid weather.

And it sucked to climb into one that had been parked on the tarmac in the hot South Carolina sun all day with the windows rolled up. And it didn't have air conditioning.

The cab and sleeper of my truck was about 65 degrees. Fahrenheit.

I couldn't wait to get back to it.

When I was in the army we had no aircon in our trucks. Daytime, it could get to 50degC (122F) inside. If it was a warm night, I'd sleep on the roof, if it was cold, on the hood, for the engine warmth.
