Tess is thinking about nachos for our Superbowl party, with grated Canadian Chedder on top, any food that contains any of the above mentioned foods will be given to the spirits as an offering, on a rock out in the bush, or won't be permitted out of the cars. I'm not a food, or even a cheese snob, but I do have standards.
During the days go complete and total ignorance, (as today, the days of partial but not quite completely total ignorance) the park staff used to put out poisoned carcasses, to poison wolves in the mistaken belief that killing wolves would mean more deer for hunters. IN an uncontrolled eco-system like Algonquin it's complete non-sense., but scientists who should have known better did it. So there would be a "circle of death" around these carcasses. They didn't wipe out the wolves, but they wiped out , eagles, fishers, crows, jays, every predator that fed on carcasses in the winter. There'd be a 100 foot circle around these poisoned carcasses littered with their bodies. (Sometimes it seem the more educated people think they are, the more ignorant they can be.)
In any case, if I were to put the aforementioned food out in a field on a plate, I would fully expect to find a "circle of death" around it the next day.
