Forever if kept dry and clean. I have some high velocity stuff bought from monkey wards in the 70's. No jams or misfires.
Stingers are my favorite much faster with a lot more energy, but you lose some accuracy. Not enough to worry about when making squirrels dance!

Thanks! I like the stingers too. They do a lot of damage, and if I ever have to use them it will be up close where accuracy is not a problem.

My little pistola fits in my sock, it is not noticeable. Nothing like signaling "I have a big gun...shoot me first!"

Regards!

Never tried my sock, but my little Ruger LCP .380, loaded with Critical Defense, goes with be just about everywhere.
It's not much bigger than my Beretta Jetfire, but it has a little more pop and a little less hammer damage to the hand, if not careful with the Jetfire.
(not my photos)

This is my new pocket pal. I have its slightly bigger brother (Model 43) as well.
Bob, your Jetfire looks just like my Minx.

That's a safe bet.
The difference between eccentric and crazy comes down to first person, second person, third person:
I'm eccentric
You're nuts
He's/she's/they're nuts.
Woman to W. C. Fields: "Your DRUNK!"
W. C. Fields to Woman: "You're crazy."

"Tomorrow I'll be sober and you'll still be crazy."

We don't carry any firearms for self defence - it's not allowed. Strangely, I feel much safer here than I ever did in South Africa where I never went anywhere without my 38 special.

Nice looking weapon!

Can't remember the last time I've even seen 22 short ammo.
My brother had/has an old 22 rifle that takes only shorts.

Yep, I like spiders, they are fascinating creatures. I had a keyboard buddy for months that lived on my desk. He liked to spend time crawling up my hands and arms. Friendly little guy and could jump a mile! He was killed in a window opening accident....I still miss him.

I still have a Shop Mama....she comes in and has her babies about twice a year. She is safe in there, though Mrs Rupert almost got her with a broom once...
Some you just admire but don't touch....

Regards!
I like the little jumping spiders. The others - I scream like a girl.

Are we talking weapons now? Cannot contribute, unfortunately. Unless foils and a sabre count.

I have been thinking about getting a 22 in .40 S&W. The prices have sure escalated since the purchase of my original Glock 17 in the late 80`s

I have only had one .40. A S&W Model 4006 back in 1989. I've never been able to warm up to the .40.
I've always been a .45 and .357 advocate, but with modern ammunition the 9mm, and even the .380 have gained my respect.
The Hornady Critical Defense and Critical Duty loads are game changers.
My problem with Glock, for years, was that I didn't want to like them. In the past I had a 30 and a 26. Both worked flawlessly yet I got rid of them. Like I said, I didn't want to like them. They weren't 1911 platform. I now have a 42 and a 43.
They say the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.
"Hello, my name is Jim and I (gulp) like Glocks."

I had a "mind meld" with the Glock 17 from the start, it just fit my hand perfectly. Went to a local gun store last weekend and handled a 22 gen3, it felt good.
There goes 660 bucks...

Lot of guys I know love the 1911. I found it to be too "skinny" for my hand...
