I have seen the WSP* pull over a whole gang on the Chehalis to Longview stretch of I-5. Grin...ear-to-ear...as those guys just sit by the side of the road waiting to talk with Smokey. I wondered how many had to stop at the scales for a "safety inspection" in addition to the citation for improper lane travel.
FWIW, I have seen Greyhound buses do this during the heavy holiday periods, but they were working for speed and to enable a "free pass" option for any of the group when needed.
