How packaging and advertising pictures have changed.
Graphic design had a simple elegance back then. These days 90% of food photographs are completely fake. Hell, even I use particle based GC smoke effects to create rising steam over stone cold plates of food, most of which have been covered with glycerin and nail varnish in order to make it look appealing.

Or maybe Scandinavian students are all fair, and I should just take your word for it and move over there? I am currently applying for an MSc in Trondheim, that's probably a good first step
Trondheim is a nice town and the student are decidedly fair - but know that they haven't figured out how to shut off the wind generators there. No matter the temperature it's freezing. The rain falls horizontally and thus never hits the ground - it hits you. I guess it's like the weather in Scotland, but on steroids. You will need your WR.

Gotta love the light during summer, though. The sun does dip below the horizon for a couple of hours at night, but no need to raise the ISO.

(I apologize for all and any reference to things related to photography in the above!)

I have not experienced bad weather in Norway (the summer we spent there about 14 years ago was one of the warmest recorded, and the winter of 2010 was beautiful too), but would still be under the assumption that it is very much the other way around. In 50% of the times I go into the highlands between late autumn and early spring I have rain, sleet or snow and ice (depending on the altitude) shot at my face horizontally at between 35 and 70 mp/h. I am having a hard time imagining Trondheim to be worse than that

At least they are the pictures of food that someone thought they might want to eat.

I don't remember them saying anything colorful. Maybe "pink" when they were talking about the cupcake.

Very strong winds here today after dumping nearly 5 inches of snow in a very short time.
