This is a sad day.
Maybe someday I'll elaborate.

No. We may have lost the participation of a valued member of the forum and a personal friend of mine.

Oh. Sorry. Now of course, I must ask who?

Sad.
I only socialize on this thread, so I had no idea.

First DPR, now this? What have Rupert and his squirrels ever done to anyone? I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes though, so maybe I should not judge or comment ...

I may have witnessed the exchange that led to the anti-squirrel campaign, but I'd hoped the matter had settled down quietly. I have to say I would much rather it be that than something in the "real world" (Velveeta-induced stroke may not have been my first thought, but it was up there.)

Oh, dear.... sometimes I get lulled into forgetting that Rupert and the squirrel are the same entity. An attack on the squirrel is an attack on Rupert.

Rupert's illusion of the himself and the squirrel as separate personalities is that good.

Sometimes I forget I'm not passing messages on to the squirrel through Rupert and that he's not really talking to a talking squirrel. Remarkable really.

I appreciate the concern, there is currently negotiation in progress...Otis is a hell of a negotiator...he wants to make PF great again...although I keep reminding him it already is great!

Otis did nothing wrong, he was just Otis. It's not like he got naked in public or anything like that.....nothing offensive, other than being a squirrel, which is apparently offensive enough in some minds?

The support of Otis is greatly appreciated, I guarantee, and his many friends are indeed supportive and he thanks them more than he can express....and Otis is pretty good at expressing his views!

Don't write off Otis just yet......he intends to be around to hand out those prizes sometime this year for those holding "Otis Awards".

Looky here! Jim just got one, the highest of all for bringing out the plight of poor little defenseless squirrels!

Currently, Otis is not supposed to be here, and if you mention him, your post maybe subject to deletion and a reprimand???....so I take full responsibility for this post, on behalf of Otis for his friends here!

Though I hate speaking for Otis, he hates it even worse! He is so afraid I will say something dumb and unbecoming to his higher intelligence......he's probably right once again?

Best Regards!

The thread was cleaned up so the exchange is no longer visible.
As a moderator it wouldn't be appropriate for me elaborate, but Todd seems to have some insight into the issue and mods have no way of knowing what's discussed via PM.
