Fresh out of Velveeta, so I sliced off some real, sharp, cheddar cheese, put it on the hot ham in the skillet, and it just sat there.
No melting, no smooth liquid gold texture, just boring old cheese.

Here's what the V can do for a portobella burger:
My wife and I aren't vegetarians, Rob, but enjoy mushroom burgers like that one - the portobello roasted upside down in an oven, brushed with garlic butter, rather than grilled

What's the layer immediately on top of the lower bun, though?

No.

But we can always dream.*

* I still have an envelope with 6 prepaid mailers. I'm sure my kids will throw it away but I'm hanging on to it just in case.

Ah, okay ... we're happy minus the meat, with a steaky-textured mushroom.

Can"t we lay out some red carpet for him? Without his misguided grumpiness none of us would be here!

I had to look it up...never heard of them. We don't have any around here but we do have something sort of similar. The pretty large Mexican population in my area makes and sells a lot of tamales.....beef, chicken, and a few other varieties. They are very delicious. There is a roadside seller near me that I know personally and they make for a good meal with some refried beans, genuine Spanish rice and a salad with a hint of cilantro. Wash it down with a good Mexican beer and you will not regret!

When I lived in Mexico one summer in 1970, Bohemia was my favorite beer...and it was only .12 cents a bottle at my favorite hangout.

I think I just planned dinner tonight!

....finally got that Otis Seal in my signature.....love it! (Thanks Mark Jerling!) Mark is selling these for your signature too, only $500. each, but Otis has picked up the bill and so they are FREE to anyone that wants to use them! Good things happen to those that do...Otis guarantees!

The key to cilantro is "hint" of flavor. Anything more will ruin everything else. I am not a cilantro fan, but a hint that makes you suspect it can be just right.
Same with chili powder...the only substance on earth that can give me heartburn. A little is great.....a lot is nauseating.

Some of those hot pepper sauces me and Jim love have unique and delicious flavors.....it's those flavors that make them so attractive. Blended with other herbs and spices......roasted garlic is a good one....you can get flavors you have never before experienced.

Regards!

Damn that looks delicious! Never seen a McBob on a menu, but it would sure be a big hit.

BTW- You don't have to be embarrassed to say "Velveeta" around here.....there are plenty of us that have got your back!

Regards!
