Good to see that the chatter here is progressing at the usual vigorous rate and that the fate of both the hociR and Tokyo are secure.

I have been out of commission for the last week or so recuperating from surgical insertion of replacement knee parts. Before consenting to the surgery, I was assured that none of the hociR's wares would be utilized and that the "mark" of the hociR will not appear on the back of my thigh or elsewhere. So far - so good.

Hope they don't need to go in again. As I understand it, knee rework doesn't last long.

I opted to go without the metal, screws, and plates. Maybe a good choice...maybe not....but I am walking and there was no risk of infection......I've had two friends that eventually died of infection from ankle/foot surgery. My Doc said it would have been his choice too....Some loss of agility and endurance, but very little pain after almost 3 years.

This was more of a parallax thought.

Ha! Ha! I already did even before the knee work. My right shoulder is titanium and looks like a holstered pistol to the walk-through x-ray scanner. I always get the pat-down.

They told me average life for my type of implant is about 20 years with replacement of the HDPE bearing surface possible while leaving the remainder of the implant in place.

If you are going up against fox squirrels, I recommend something slightly bigger...
