Over an open fire?
I'm not the greatest of word smiths, but anyway... Racer, could you lead us please?

Piglets roasting on an open fire
Hunger growling in your guts
Flames o'the grill roaring up like a choir
And folks lined up for bacon cuts

Everybody knows a rib chop and some
Single malt help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Daddy’s on his way
He's added lots of ribs and goodies
To the buffet
And every mother's
Child is gonna spy to see if
Piglets really know how to fly

And so, I'm offering this
Simple phrase to kids from
One to ninety-two
Altho' it's been said many times
Many ways
“Crispy bacon for you!”

...and my apologies to Mr Cole

Waiting on a "clear to close" is about as exciting as watching paint dry.

I would love to share your wordsmithing with friends on my bbq forum, but.......
I would feel the need to explain how it came about on a camera/photo forum,
and I don't think this thread can be explained to sane people.

it probably would give insane people problems as well, although they might empathize with the content.

If I were institutionalized as insane and I read this thread I'd wonder "How come I'm in here and those people are running loose?"

Well, if the definition of insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results*, then yes, The Thread is insane, since we post the same thing again and again, and expect that THIS TIME, it will be funny or entertaining. But that's no different from the rest of PF, where people post the same thing again and again and expect that THIS TIME, people will realize how smart and right they are (and/or care that the lack/presence of some feature is a deal-breaker for them). The internet is just a crazy place.

*it isn't, but people say it is, so I'll run with it.

Eh, I've watched paint dry in the course of some of my hobbies, and it might be MORE exciting.

If your hobby is body painting watching paint dry could be very exciting

Bouncing around Youtube last nite, I ran across a video of a young lass getting a full-body mould made. Just gotta love the educational materials available! Carefully explained every step. Plaster, not paint, but other than that...

and no, no bacon. Nekkid girl, though, makes up for it

Say it isn't so! If bacon haters are coming out of the pantry here, this place will never survive. We should have done away with Bert when we first learned of his bacon perversion.

I think we need a Bacon Loyalty Pledge. Will anyone second that motion?

Let me be next to make the Bacon Pledge!

I Rupert, being of somewhat sound mind and not so great a body, do solemnly swear my allegiance to bacon, and commit my life to the preservation of bacon culture......with or without nitrates, nitrites, or other preservatives.
