I deliberately used the preposition "at" and not "in".
That's good because having dinner "in The Swan" might be difficult to comprehend.

I d wonder how we're going to get on in this thread without Rupert the Pro. I mean, He's going to be so busy now creeping up on squirrels wielding his new larger (K-1) instrument that he won't have time to hang out here with us!

Yeah, it will be just like he's been banned or something.

Had a dental appointment, then back to that damn manual. Got to study if I'm gonna be a Pro! I am slowly figuring out how some things work....

Had a little time for the studying then had to get dinner ready...bacon and eggs with flaky biscuits and peppered gravy. Cooked a whole pound of maple smoked bacon...damn was it ever delicious! Too much so...Mrs Rupert ate half of it.

I cook it in the microwave...comes out very evenly cooked and perfectly crispy! Scrambled eggs with a chunk of Velveeta melted and blended in....you gotta try it!

I got a few half decent test shots today....feeling out the K1...so far so good! That AF is freaking me out! A fast focus Bigma? That is unbelievable!

1/80 handheld @ 500mm...The SR is truly amazing too! You have about 2-5 seconds to shoot a Jay before the jittery little air rodents move along. I usually miss the shot because they are gone before the Bigma can focus......not anymore!

Yep, keep dreaming...I'm still here!

Ha! The master returns. And there we thought he'd be so busy snuggling up to his shiny new K-1 that he would forger about PF. Well, pffffft to that! Welcome back Rupert!

Heck Mark... I wasn't even gone except to the dentist and to cook that bacon! Tomorrow I'm going to work out the K1 if I can, but I'll be around. This place is an addiction....and we are all addicted. The lure of rotting lewdfish is apparently irresistible to some...and Velveeta to others!

Everyone knows how it is with a new camera.....the excitement is mesmerizing and the thrill is tantalizing.....it doesn't last forever, but with this camera it may last a long time!

I was showing Mrs Rupert the shots I took today and trying to explain high ISO and fast focus etc. She said they look just like all my other shots in the past...so what's the difference? I kept on explaining how much easier it is with the K1.

Finally, I said that maybe it was stupid to spend on a high end camera just to shoot squirrels and birds.........her reply......"Sounds like it was made special for a guy like you".

Regards!

Where oh where is Rupert tonight?
Why did he leave us here all alone?
We searched the world over,
And thought he found squirrel love.
He met a K-1 and
pffffft ! he was gone.

edit, Thank goodness he's back!

Sounds like "buyers remorse"!
I can arrange an intervention, if you think it will help!

The sentence with the prepositions to which I referred was the one one about AT Bath, not IN Bath. We had no intention of behaving in the manner which Romans, who built Bath, most probably behaved while they were there.

I have the sneaky suspicion the Romans had more of a good time than most people in Bath have had since!

Mother's Day dinner splurge.
$18 per pound, Prime grade, rib-eye pinwheel cap steaks.
The only cooking error was not wrapping them with bacon.
