I do see some difference myself....hard to pinpoint just what but they do seem to have more pop?


What is impressing me most is the newfound fast focus on my Bigma. Here are a couple of shots that required fast action to capture and a fast lock on focus. These are jittery birds and don't stay in one place long. It is very rare to get an opportunity to shoot two together. In any previous body I doubt I would have even tried, they would be long gone before the Bigma got through hunting like an old blind hound.

Focused instantly!








I'm pretty excited to be able to get shots I never got before..and do it with relative ease! It is indeed a whole new Pentax!

Cycling and swimming are low impact ... footballers coming back from knee injuries in Australia are advised to take up one or both semi-seriously to keep their weight down and cardio ability up ("use it or lose it") while they recuperate.


Running is definitely something that needs to have its quantity carefully limited ... even people in their 20s can get shin splints, let alone the cartilage wear on older, heavier specimens.


Mind you, to stop osteoporosis (yes, even in males) *some* load bearing exercise like running should be done regularly. An older person doesn't want to break something from a quite routine slip and fall. You're excused, James, your tumble must have been spectacular!

A doctor friend of mine said he sees many patients who have shine splints arising from running, particularly on a treadmill, up an incline. He said the angle of the ground results in inappropriate tensions in the shin muscles.

That's a decent ride. Hold thumbs for good weather for my regular Wednesday night group ride. (Forecast is not looking too flash)

It even has made some of the squirrels look like jays, pigeons, and a raccoon.

At yesterday's marathon there was a stall selling boerewors rolls, biltong and droe wors. These are all South African delicacies. So, had a good day really!
