Ha! I know this question was not directed to me, but!
At yesterday's marathon there was a stall selling boerewors rolls, biltong and droe wors. These are all South African delicacies. So, had a good day really!
Now, that made me hungry!

Even all the talk of cycling and running can't kill my appetite now

Not bad, but I still have post 23456

I'm thinking of going pro, like another member here recently did.
I don't have any editing software available, but would have made a "Buy a Kewan, be a Pro" poster...

Running is definitely something that needs to have its quantity carefully limited ... even people in their 20s can get shin splints, let alone the cartilage wear on older, heavier specimens.
Yep, our youngest son, a lifelong avid runner is sidelined with heel spurs and currently getting treatment, but I think his running days are over.

You're excused, James, your tumble must have been spectacular!
You know Clackers, I have always been very active, though not in a forma way. Just my daily work routine kept me in very good shape. On my first ankle break in '92 they wanted to remove my right foot the night I went to the ER......said it was not salvageable. The most recent left break was almost as bad...they just said I may never walk on it.
So here I am very limited in my activities, and conscious of every step I take...and plenty damn thankful I can even take a step!

Be careful out there...it is a dangerous world, even if you aren't a "Rupert Type".

Regards!

Your biltong looks a bit like my jerky.
I always add a little curing agent to the marinade.

Damn that all looks delicious. St Louis is not all that far away...I could be there pretty fast in my little TT!

Regards!

I'm cheating for dinner...I just called the Butcher Man and asked him to put a half dozen bacon wrapped sirloin burgers in his smoker machine. Should be ready around 4pm. Some fresh steamed veggies and a fruit salad with some brown gravy and creamy mashed potatoes should please Mrs Rupert when she comes in hungry from her Zumba class this evening.

In my town the butcher is called Baker! And this in a town in the middle of the country that invented the language.

You guys keep trying to get me in trouble....Racer is the worst. I'm not falling for it!

How about something exciting? This little Newbie Squirrel just got his first slice of bacon! Yes, squirrels love bacon....don't we all!
Well, most of us. I named him Bert!

I'm working on a delicious dinner.....but it is going to pale compared to those ribs.

Just wondering...reckon how corn fed squirrel would grill?

I could go for that breakfast, but if I cycled 50 miles I'd be in intensive care just before the mortuary van came for me.

You gotta know you are wearing out your body...right?
Lesser of two evils I guess, exercise (and be able to indulge in an occasional bacon feast) or die on the couch watching TV

Oh I get out every day...but don't do any 50 miles...more like 50 feet at a time. I feed the animals twice a day, visit my friends in town .....and those dozen Chocolate Girlfriends. I'd do more if my feet would let me.

Holding thumbs, our spring is here sort-of, should be able to start racking some miles on the old faithful Miyata Triple-Cross.
