Otis says that is worth one of these for you!

"......old funny guy from Texas." You mean my self image as a serious composer of intelligent conversation and philosophy is all wrong???
Maybe I should have kept those fancy pants, alligator shoes, belt and silk shirt so you guys would take me serious?

Regards!

I did love that shot...poor as it was. In the darkness and heavy rain with a short 2.8 lens it was all I could do.....but the message was crystal clear.
Mrs Rupert liked it too...I didn't tell her about the naked part either. She did comment that it was not like the time at the football game I took off running with the umbrella and left her standing by the Jeep to get soaked......I tried and tried back then to tell her I had forgotten she was with me......somehow that didn't go over well either.

On Sunday down in Huntsville AL I did a 10 mile hike with the K1 and DFA 150-450 in one hand and a camera bag with a K3, K-01, DA*16-50, DA* 60-250, Sigma EX HSM 24-70, and Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 Art and a couple liters of water and some jerky and granola bars up some hills in 95 degree weather. The bad thing is I didn't even get very many shots because all the wildlife was in hiding due to cops, search and rescue, and firefighters (and hot weather) because a lady got lost out there (got asked multiple times if I had seen her). They found her 4 hours later 100 years from the trail. The coroner took her out.

I think I read about her....sad news. Got lost???

I would never carry that much gear, it is too much a load.....of course if I had a bag lady......

Bag ladies smile, knowing the next load they will be carrying is from that big shopping trip they were promised!

Yep, on Wade Mtn. in Huntsville AL.

I can't get Tiffany out on trails like that unless they are in a botanical garden!

100 years from the trail?

That's a long ways.

I guess so.

After 100 years no one would be walking out.

Well crap ... I was going to go to the international photo swap meet of Paris (@ Bièvres), but the super highway between Poitiers and Paris (A10) is flooded out for the next few days due to Armageddon rain and the secondary roads are very difficult ... just cancelled my overnight stay at the B&B ... merde!

You know Racer...I started to post the same thing, but didn't out of respect for the dead...then I realized what thread I was in and knew someone else would cover it for me! Thanks!

Speaking of the dead.....close call today....I was putting up some new lights for Mrs Rupert in her utility room...replacing old fluorescent bulbs with LED tube bulbs......brighter and more efficient.

Cakewalk....but as I had the old wiring bare and was up on a step ladder I grabbed the wires and got a dandy jolt of 120...thank goodness I'm great at falling...broke me lose in a heartbeat. I think my hip is gonna be real sore where I hit the dryer, but my feet are fine! I guess I flipped the switch on at some point to get some light to see what I was doing......that's how accidents happen.

Hey, and based on where your township is on that map you would have been about an hour and a half drive from Indianapolis.
Know what I'm gettin' at here?
Oh, and taking a meandering drive across the US and Canada is how one finds old fords and parts.
You can never have enough Fords!

Good to hear you're OK. It's not the volts that will kill ya, it's the amps.

I had similar misgivings too.
