I hate getting shocked.

Dad loved to fish and when I was a kid he made what he called a "worm getter"
It was made of two steel rods with wood handles, an extension cord with receptacle end cut off, and a wire attached to each rod.
Plug it in, stick the rods in the ground a few feet apart and earth worms (we always called them fishing worms) come crawling to the surface.
I got plenty of little "hits" while doing the worm gathering.

Hadn't thought about this for years, but a web search shows them being called worm shocker and worm getter, even being sold on eBay.
Lots of the old timers around here have been doing that for years. But most of them unplug the cord before venturing out to collect the worms. Worms are slow and not many recover from the electrocution before they are collected.

Oh, and we call them Nightcrawlers.

They are huge, about 10 - 12 inches long.

Been far too long since I've been fishing. Been too busy working.

*sigh*

"Work is for people who don't know how to fish."

..........................and I've been too busy working.

And sulfur hexide works great also..

Hey Racer,

Remember this? I'm in Billings right now. Just drove 1970 miles to buy a K1. Well I had a few other things to do along the way too.

I celebrated with a dozen slices of that Aldi pre-cooked bacon this morning. Delicious and only a few seconds in the microwave!

So Bert...tell us all about it. In bacon therapy do you have to sleep with hogs or help in hog slaughter and bacon rendering? Was it greasy work or did you have outfits that protected you? Was hypnosis involved? So many questions.....

Regards!

I've been through Billings a hundred times or more, but never saw that.

Where is it?

Oh, and congratulations on your new camera!
