I'm in Kearney, NE, cleaning out a storage shed containing every piece of clothing, every nick-nack, every greeting card, every photo, every kitchen utensil my wife's parents ever owned during their nearly 60 years of marriage.
I should be home by tomorrow evening. (Assuming I live that long.)

So they saved a memento or two then?

That is something nice about living in a small town - you get to find out the story behind incidents you have seen. Knowing eventually you will find out reduces the interest in being a spectator at the site. In a city it all gets hidden away.
What's pretty disturbing, I find, is when you know the real story and then read the newspaper story.

What fun! Any 1920's to 1950's fuel pumps? What about tubes? EL34's? ECC83's?

I won't go that far, but you can certainly have my spot if you like!

---------- Post added 07-25-16 at 07:55 AM ----------

Been so busy in the summer months that I have not been shooting as much as I would like. I have set a goal of two decent shots a day to add to my Flickr galleries. These are my two from yesterday.......it was getting late and I glanced out and noticed it was that "magic light" ...so I popped a few shots. The K1 makes it so easy to get a quick shot, the AF is instant, no time wasted while the Bigma does all that blind hound hunting like it used to. Now it locks on instantly!

I know...this is not a camera thread, but if we can talk about filthy disgusting lewdfish we can talk about pictures and cameras a little too!

Dandy dove shots Rupert!
I shot a bird yesterday too, a chicken, an apple wood smoked chicken.
But my weapon was a Pentax MX-1, love that little guy for grab shots!

Tomato based sauce on the left, Big Bob Gibson's white sauce on the right that became transparent from the heat.

Thanks!

I love the looks of those but would love the taste even better.

I have a rotisserie for my grill and used to do cornish hens fairly often...just amazingly delicious. Life seems to have changed a lot since my last broken foot....less time, harder to get anything done, and a lack of desire for any more walking than is necessary. It is easier just to let the Butcherman pop a couple in his big Smoker machine.

I have less of everything nowadays...less energy, less enthusiasm, and less ambition for any new endeavor...and most of the old ones. I have more cash...more than I ever imagined I would ever have in my old age, but it seems to matter less than ever.

Maybe it is just this unbearable heat and humidity and I will get energized again in the Fall? I am hoping!

Currently 90F & 72% humidity. The only thing I see out there unfazed by it is the damn squirrels....and I think most of them are already drunk at 11am today?
Regards!

No, it's been in the Dining Room since I restored it. (My wife likes it!) We once went to a party where someone we did not know asked me where we lived. I gave the suburb. The person replied that they had heard of people with a petrol pump in their dining room living in that suburb - Had we heard of them?

The strangest thing is that you'll basically get two types of new visitors to the house: Type 1 says something along the lines of: "You have a petrol pump in the house!" The're OK and will get invited back. Type 2 pretends it does not exist.

I keep my enamel sign collection in the man cave.
My house is like that: Type 1: "you have interesting stuff", Type 2: '??? Why and what are you going to do with all that?"

I have no idea what that "hoc thingy" is all about and never have...but I guarantee I'd never use it around my squirrels.

I'll spell it out for you Jim.

The livE hociR is Evil Ricoh spelled backwards.
