Direct pressure.

But you know that, being a former EMT.

All else is secondary......it's just how Texans are. Other places are great and we love 'em......but they ain't Texas!

Even Otis found the Romans disturbing and disgusting..........but, he said he would gladly lick up any remaining lard once that bacon was removed, even if it took hours of his precious time!
They also used their left hand, or scraps of cloth. Only the wealthy had their own sponges, ordinary people shared a sponge. There was clean, running water in every latrine, so the sponge was rinsed between uses. I'm real glad someone invented toilet paper!!!

Otis executes more squirrels than a dozen hawks can consume in their lifetimes. He says they often deserve it.

Like this one he caught stealing from his private feeder today....someone squealed to Otis on him.

Sneaky thief....

So hawks are nothing to Otis....and they don't mess with him after he robbed their nest once and ate all their babies.

Regards!

Hey, Otis is not a toy squirrel, he leads a giant army of squirrels and has to be tough to survive...and he is! That thieving squirrel got off easy, but he now barks out in a high pitched tone.

Anyone for Mountain Oysters?

A friend of mine grew up very poor. As result, he hated waste. So, he collected all the previous year's phone books from all his friends, took those, once a year, to his friendly local commercial printer, where the books got chopped in the guillotine, and he had toilet paper for a whole year. Whenever we visited at his place, my wife always made sure she had her own toilet paper, just in case!

Mark explained that they did rinse off the sponge between uses....so they weren't all that bad after all.....I guess? They would not like my presence...that damn Butt Putty is sticky stuff and won't wash off easily.

After 6 weeks from the time I got the estimate, I finally got the Toy Car back yesterday. Looks great!

New AC condenser and hoses. That was all under the hood that was damaged...slightly.

All new front lower grill assembly.

Four wheels factory reconditioned, powder coated and clear coated.

Doesn't look almost 15 years old. The inside is perfect too.

I've owned a lot of cars...this is the most fun to drive of all of them. It was perfect on that 5400 mile trip to Oregon, very comfortable and all that space in the back for our junk!

The repairs were about $4500. and since it is technically Mrs Rupert's car I used her debit card to pay my deductible + reconditioning of two extra wheels.....$275. But, I did drive her over to Stephenville in it and bought her dinner at Taco Bell...$2.49 and let her use my debit card to buy some new shoes....$9.99. I'm a pretty nice guy!

You can buy a new one for near $50K ...we almost did. Or you can shop around and get a mint used one like we did 3 years ago for $13.2K in perfect condition with under 50K miles. Otis calls it Big Brain Thinking....me too!
