A good road trip is a wonderful experience. Back roads and side roads are the best! So much to see...unless you are in Kansas and Nebraska and love corn.

I've always loved a good roadtrip. In '93-94 I went right across Canada and covered a lot of ground in the USA too - all avoiding Interstates where possible. On a long meandering trip from Toledo to Washington DC I stopped in little towns that had never seen a foreign tourist. The North-Eastern states in the Fall was stunning. Accommodation was a bit of a problem up North as many places in smaller towns were closed for winter!

Never been to the NE. It is one of Mrs Rupert's favorite areas. She used to go with her family ever year on her vacations while I stayed home and worked. Amazingly beautiful she says. They also went to Canada many times. Maybe someday I will make it.
I'm a desert person...love the west, starting in far west Texas. Big Bend is my favorite place in the world that I have known.

Mrs Rupert has also traveled extensively in Europe and reports gorgeous places there too.

I hope to see more places in the coming year or two if I am fortunate enough to keep walking.
