Like I said, I knew that this was on the horizon a long, long time ago, but it still sucks when it hits you directly.

So, you never made partner then?

So it goes . . . . . . .

Well there is always private practice.

That stinks. Seems to be going on all over the place these days. Not much consolation in that when it hits, though.

Best of luck to you - hope you'll land on your feet somehow. For some reason I think you will...

Of course.

I swore off fast food many years ago. And that is one thing that confounds me about the recent pancreatitis episode. I've been eating better for quite some time, yet still developed health issues.

I am doing much better since the recent event. Eating primarily vegetables and fruit, fish 3 or 4 days a week, very lean pork once, no dairy, and no highly refined sugars.

And I've shed about 14lbs.

Down to 188.

Hoping to get back down to a lithe 160 or so.

Well, there's one uncomfortable truth about healthy diets; they work

I lied.

I get yogurt.

That's dairy.

But its OK dairy.

No fat.

I use it to make salad dressings.

I use it to make tzatziki to dip celery, carrot, and other crispy sliced up vegies.

Or have it as a treat with some fresh raw honey. This also works great as a 'whipped' topping on fresh mixed fruit. Just whisk the dickens out of it first.

Well. I'm OK. Big bicycle crash on our group ride Sat morning. The lady who caused it all has some scratches and bruises. The guy that was directly behind her became airborne and when he hit terra firma he broke a collarbone and three ribs, one of which stabbed him in the lung. So, he's in hospital. The lady behind him broke a bone in her hand and the bloke behind her (that would be me folks) crashed into the mess already on the road and landed on top of something soft and squishy, with result that I only hurt my hands. Close call.

More importantly, I'm happy to report my bicycle is fine!
