Nah. Went for a bike ride very early this morning. Then, I drove lead car for this race: Race Two. So, you have lead motorcycles stopping traffic at intersections and then the lead car, just ahead of the peleton. Then you have the Commissaire, directly behind the peleton and sometimes his car will move up into the peleton, with some roving motorcycles, then the team cars and behind it all the ambulance.

It was not an uneventful day - we did have a crash and also one poor guy had a heart attack. Luckily for him, two other cyclists were doctors and the Rescue chopper was there pretty quickly. The ambulance staff had to jump start him twice!
Nasty stats for your race. That kind of thing is often distressing for all involved.

Yes, pretty stressful. But, medical care was top notch and it sounds as if he'll be OK.

What did you expect to see out the back of Deni.

On one of my trips through that region I was stopped for a breath test at Jerilderie. My daughter was with me. We were going from Sydney to Barham.

That's the point where, when you get there, you will vanish, right?

Scary stuff!

Well. Sort of.

But he's not around anymore, is he...

Besides, he was not the first European to get over there. Never mind the Greenlanders/Icelanders, they went there, but left again. But don't try and tell me the Portuguese weren't first. They probably visited Newfoundland before Colón got his butt in motion, but most definitely they had visited South America. Going south to explore Africa (as they started doing early in the 15th century) it's highly unlikely that the currents didn't carry them to South America at some point. And the Treaty of Tordesillas from 1494 placed Brazil in the hands of the Portuguese. Hardly a coincidence.

Oh well, time to grab a bite, then some sleep!

Actually Rob, I was stationary at the time; I was standing out of the car taking pictures - I took one in all four directions and the horizon was just the same in each one (except for the faint line of trees to the north)

Nah. I'm still here. (But I'm not sure that others can see me though! - Except my wife who was with me and so would have vanished also)

Reminds me of a road heading to Colorado Springs, CO, but more flat.
