I must disagree, nothing wrong with näkkileipä, put some cheese on it. Slices of hard-boiled egg topped with pickled herring is very tasty also.
Seriously, I like them... just not as much as a big, hot, grilled bacon sandwich

Thinking about one is making my mouth water.
I believe that eating one is worth about 8 miles of cycling to burn off the calories unfortunately.
edit: it is more like 10 miles...

Last edited by Ex Finn.; 11-27-2016 at 04:36 PM. Reason: checked the calorie amount in the said sandwich.

Had a great breakfast this morning, fried eggs, fried mushrooms, fried bread, baked beans and bacon!

I enjoyed the whole thing...

I've never really liked eggs before either.

The egg yolk was hard and the bacon soft; that is how I like it I guess...

Canadian loin bacon or American pig belly bacon?

In solidarity with you dieters, I joined you tonight.
I skipped having a salad and garlic bread with my grilled ribeye and baked potato topped with a knob of butter.

It's only been a few days, but butter is one of the things I'm missing. Unlike many other European countries, we Brits normally consider bread to be incomplete without a decent layer of butter, and even my crackers yearn for a thin scraping... I'm sorry, but anyone who tells me that a low-fat spread is just as good will have a heated argument on their hands...

+1 If I had to live without butter?? I would have to decide if life were worth living!
On the topic crackers? They are only useful when the world has ended and your grill has been overrun by zombies!!

You will not argue with me on that one. I always prefer real food over factory imitations from the chemical industry.

I can't believe we haven't discussed knekkebrød/knäkkebröd/näkkileipä here before. Or have we? Anyway, my evening meal usually consists of knekkebrød with cheese and some yoghurt as a side dish.

And why not with cheese and bacon both? No reason! None at all.

Are those MRE crackers a bit like old-fashioned "ship's biscuit"?
