What Army needs guns or other weapons when they have bagpipes! ....I'm guessing they are prohibited on the battlefield by the Geneva Convention?

What?
Not my $500+ race skis?
It would be perfectly doable, but it's a lot more fun with a bit of control and stability

...and probably more fun if the ski tips don't get snapped...

I've got pretty good control and stability on Nordic skis, more than the average person.
For fun I go down the ski hill (KHMR) on my skate skis.

You guessed the new top-secret Canadian Forces attack plan!
It was meant to be a surprise attack method... guess it's down the drain now
Who would Canada attack anyway? I mean, Canada is almost like Switzerland. Friendly with nearly everyone.

Y'all make a great neighbour to the 'Mericans. In fact they like Canuckians so much that many of them want to be Canuckian.

Oh, Canada!

We recycle and compost anything that we can. When shopping consideration is given to packaging, so there is less to dispose of after consumption of the products. This results in a very low volume of daily detritus that must go to a landfill.

Of course where we live there is no garbage service either. The strategy we employ results is such a small amount if stuff that has to get thrown out that one of those plastic bags the groceries comes in is carried out during the odd weekly trip into town, and dropped in any convenient trash receptacle at the store or gas station.

A couple times a year I round up all the larger items that must go to the landfill and load the pickup, making a run to the transfer station. Mostly stuff from my shop, empty oil jugs, packaging from whatever has come and gone related to mechanical stuff, etc. I drain and crush used oil filters, reclaiming as much oil from them as possible for the oil furnace, and drop them off at the recycling station at the transfer station for free. Same for other automotive fluids that are accepted for recycling, antifreeze, brake fluid, gear lube. The county charges a minimum $20 if the load is under a certain weight limit, and I rarely exceed that.

I save all the aluminum beverage cans, squished of course, and have several 55 gallon plastic barrels to keep them in. When the barrels are full I load them up and head to the local metals recycling place, and usually get enough cash to take Mrs. Racer out for a nice dinner.

That's a win.

Ahhh . . . . . . . country living.

If Rupert does that, Mrs Rupert might not be overwhelmingly pleased.

You can afford $500 skis on a bagpiper's salary?
Who'd a thunk it?

Ah, these are my people, as anyone who's heard me butcher the intros to 'Stairway to Heaven' or 'Sweet Child o' Mine' in a guitar shop will agree.

This is pretty cool. The thing is big enough to haul Jim's Maine Coon cat around.
