sorry about the size, picked if off his FB page.
Neat! I've always found mountain biking a bit scary. Yet I'm happy to hurtle down a road downhill at 87km/h. No logic there!

Mountain biking isn't for me anymore, either.
Running into trees and falling down in the mud or dirt has lost its appeal. I fall down a well as I ever did, but I don't get up as well as I used to.

Thanks Jim! I'll pass on that very kind and generous offer. But, enough about me: Poor Bert is just north of the border - I'm sure he'll be very happy with all these generous gifts you kind folk want to offer! Maybe you can even get him a saddle? I've found just the thing:
Hey, the plaid will match his bagpipes.

I was a bit confused by your use of "plaid" here, Racer, but it seems it's common and correct usage over there (not so here and in Scotland - at least, not in this context):

Tartan (Scottish Gaelic: breacan [ˈbɾʲɛxkən]) is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. Tartans originated in woven wool, but now they are made in many other materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. Tartan is often called plaid in North America, but in Scotland, a plaid is a tartan cloth slung over the shoulder as a kilt accessory, or a plain ordinary blanket such as one would have on a bed.

Now, who's for deep fried Mars Bars??

Kudos. The small amount of extra resistance from those cards is a small price to pay for the authentic growl on a fast 87km/h downhill ride... We know it, and in his heart, Mark knows it too...

I was going to use tartan, but I don't know the word very well, and thought it was more relative to specific patterns and colors that define familial associations.

Or something like that.

Your Mars bar is different than ours. Ours has almonds in it. Yours is like a Milky Way bar. No nuts at all.

Gotta have nuts.

I bloody deserve a beer before heading off to bed tonight. It has been a shoddy week at work so far.

Here's for a better tomorrow - cheers!

...and good night.

I have no idea. All I can say is it hurts! Unless you're lucky enough to fall on top of someone.

We have Milky Way too... It's nice, but much lighter than the Mars Bar. The (our) Mars Bar has a much thicker version of the (our) Milky Way whipped fondant, caramel and thick milky chocolate. That said, I like the sound of almonds in it... I do love my nuts (and, if I may say, I'm not the only one)...

The traditional British Mars Bar works well in the Scottish battered, deep fried recipe... but as for the American Mars, I offer this advice: Never, ever put your nuts in a deep fat frier.
