You must be feeling better Jim.

There is a Rupert Story that always comes to mind with this one....

She was a dark haired petite beauty, cunning and conniving, perceived as an angel, with a soul as dark as the devil. He was a non-conformer, wild and self assured, with no fear of tempting the devil. It went on for several years from Jr High through High School. The episodes, and there were many...were legend and known to all. I fear even mentioning her name....for the havoc she would surely cause if she ever found me. It did not end well. Losing was never acceptable to her.....
The episodes......that's where the story is, but I'm not up to it yet. Maybe when I get over this.....if I get over this? I am beginning to have some doubts.

Regards!

Was this She Devil named Mrs. Rupert?

dayummm, lots and lots and lots of great music going on here. It's *ALL* great. I listen to just about anything (except hardcore rap) and can enjoy most of it.

For work, I like to have instrumentals or foreign-language bands, so I can get the musical beat without my brain getting tangled up in following lyrics. I can't tolerate conversations outside my door either - too distracting.

This week it's been "surf music" keeping me going. Lovin' the reverb!

A mix:
Ride The Last Wave - 30 Surf Hits Around The World ? ? ? - YouTube

And a great Russian surf punkish band:
Messer Chups - Surf Riders From The Swamp Lagoon (Full Album) - YouTube
tasty stuff...hard surf music has a special place in my heart
I even bought a fender reverb so that I could attempt some dick dale...it absolutely, positively did not work!

that's where I come to music except I can listen to even hardcore rap before another damn polka
though after enough booze, I danced at a lot of polish weddings

Weird bayonet...!
a tactical axe, my young jedi

if you want a bayonet on a Mossberg, they make it

but if you want old school (which for you would probably be a blunderbuss with a spring bayonet)
there was the Winchester 1897 trench gun that mounted the bayonet from the 1903 springfield

in 1971 I found one for 897.95usd
I was barely pushing that a month without overtime
so it continued to hang on the store's wall instead of mine

the gun itself was popular because some iteration could be fired repeatedly without taking your finger off the trigger...just pump until you were empty...no disconnector?

While we're talking guns...
Did you know the Canadian Rangers still use Lee-Enfield rifles? First adopted in 1885 and still in use over 130 years later, though later production models.

Time to loosen the belt and take a nap.

too old, too slow and not accurate
designed for massed fire
fired by men who were grist for the mill

cheaper than machine guns

ten shots from the fastest, smoothest operating turn bolt action rifle I have ever used

a former marine I shot with could put three holes in a pie plate, grouped at two inches at a hundred yards
in the same amount of time I could put ten rounds and begin inserting another mag (spare no stripper clips)
however my group was about six inches in size

design intent
the germans and americans rated accuracy first
rate of fire somewhere down the line

the smle was a soldier's rifle...the springfield and mauser were riflemen's rifles

note: while I prefer to think of mr. lee as an American, he was born in Scotland and grew up in canada

I like quite a bit of Scottish singing from the 60s and before. Also like classical music. And I like bagpipes, if you couldn't tell.
Diverse is good. Have you ever listened to Georgian (the country) folk music? The droning harmonies should appeal to your bagpipey heart

Acapella Georgian Polyphonic Singing - YouTube

I listen to a lot of different things, all depending on my mood. It could be Pink Floyd or the Doors, or Ismaël Lô, Dobet Gnahoré, Amaryoni, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Kolkheti, Marjan Vahdat, Tallis Scholars or Rammstein. Or anything in between.

So, anything from...

...to...

Rammstein - Feuer Frei! (Official Video) - YouTube

here I was thinking I had eclectic tastes

quite a spread

I couldn't help but think of a story (yet to be written) called "rammstein in the morning"
my youngest boy listened to them quite a bit
he hated it when I suggested it was a way to take his video games wherever he went
I always felt the music sounded like the background tracks of the games he played
